Datapak's Kinney Charities Brings Hockey School to Livingston County
Posted 06/01/2009HOWELL, Mich., June 1, 2009 - Kinney Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of Datapak Services Corporation, today announced that it is bringing hockey to Livingston County this summer by way of Gateway Hockey, LLC's Icehawks Pro Hockey School. On August 3 - 14, 2009, a wide range of hockey school clinics will take place at two area arenas - Grand Oaks Ice Arena and Kensington Valley Ice House.
"As the title sponsor, we are leveraging our relationship with the Detroit Red Wings Alumni and the International Hockey League to offer training from current and former professional hockey players," said Frank D. Kinney, chief Financial Officer of Datapak Services Corporation and Kinney Charities, Inc. "The pros are excited to instruct Livingston County players because it allows them to teach and share what the game has given them throughout their career. The hockey school allows them to reminisce of learning how to skate, pass a puck, shoot, stick handle, or how to shoot a slap shot but more importantly, become the teacher and encourager by passing on that expertise."
National Hockey League and International Hockey League stars that are scheduled to instruct these clincs include:

- Stan Drulia, Coach and General Manager of the Port Huron Icehawks
- Jon Hillebrandt, Goalie Coach of the Port Huron Icehawks
- B.J. Adams, Defenseman for the Port Huron icehawks
- Ian Turner, Defenseman for the Port Huron Icehawks
- Tab Lardner, Left Wing for the Port Huron Icehawks
- Larry Sterling, Goalie for the Port Huron Icehawks
Hockey clinics will be available to players of all ages and skills. In addition to clinics for specific age ranges, there will be several specialty clinics including Power Skating, Goalies, Defensemen, Offense and a Girls-only clinic. Clinics will include on-ice instruction, off-ice training & activities, video analysis of skills and a unique camp jersey. Clinics are available for all budgets, ranging in price from $30.00 to $399.00. A portion of the proceeds raised will be used to fund future hockey-oriented initiatives for those who are less fortunate.
